Walk, Connect, Belong
Looking to meet new women but nervous about coming alone? You’re not the only one – over half of our walkers join solo!
Women Who Walk is a welcoming, easygoing community in St Albans, Guildford and Brighton offering locally guided walks where you can explore, chat and find your people.
Each month, we announce new walking routes, head out with a friendly group, ending with drinks, shared stories and great chats along the way.
Whether you’re new to the area, stepping outside your comfort zone or want to make new friends, this is the community for you. Come and join us, you’ll be so glad you did!
I didn’t know anyone at first … and now I never miss a walk.

I was nervous to come alone. Everyone seemed to know each other but it turned out that most were meeting for the first time. Welcoming new faces is at the heart of this group & that’s what makes it so special. It’s why I keep coming back for more!

WALK FAQS
-
Over half our walkers join solo and many were nervous their first time too. From the moment you arrive you’ll be greeted by a friendly, easygoing group.
Every walk is different, with new people joining each time, so you won’t be the only new face in the crowd.
If you are worried, reach out to your local group and introduce yourself through our socials ahead of the walk. Come and say hi when you arrive.
-
While some women come regularly, we absolutely have new women that come along every time we meet. Everyone is super welcoming and will make you feel at ease right away.
-
Walks are free! Just remember to register for a walk beforehand. There is no need to let us know, just come and say hi on the day.
-
Not at all! Our locally guided walks are about connection, not competition. We cover 7–8km at a relaxed, conversational pace. If you can comfortably walk for around 90 minutes, you’ll be absolutely fine.
We will post our walks ahead of time and will let you know if the route is longer or harder than normal. Keep an eye out on our socials for any last minute changes.
-
We finish at a pub or somewhere cosy where you can grab a drink and unwind to continue your conversations.
There’s absolutely no pressure to stay, though many find this is where the friendships really begin!
-
You sign up by registering for a walk, then you’ll receive our monthly newsletter – it’ll have all the details, including meeting points and routes. Just bring comfy clothing, weather-appropriate footwear and a friendly attitude. That’s it! See you there.
