Soph and Lisa created Women Who Walk in 2023 to invite all women to walk, socialise and meet new people in the outdoors. Soph and Lisa have known each other since University, they both love walking, catching up and then enjoying a drink and/or a pub lunch at the end of the walk. Lisa only moved to St. Albans recently and was surprised to hear there was nothing like Women Who Walk available. Wanting to combine her love of walking, Soph's local knowledge and hopefully make some new friends too... Women Who Walk was born!
We promise to take you on some great local walks where everyone is welcome! We'd like to create a community for women to meet other women that like to walk, have fun and ultimately make new friends.
Sophie - St Albans born and bred, loves a picante margarita, her two cats and a circular walk with a pub in the middle.
Lisa - Loves making pizza in her Ooni, travelling to new places and climbing a new mountain every year!

Please reach us via the 'Contact Us' form if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Full details can be found on our 'Events' page. This includes all our future dates, distances and locations.
We walk twice a month, sometimes due to weather or Soph and Lisa's availability it may be once. If that happens, we'll throw in a social event instead.
This varies and all depends on the walk we've chosen for the week. The smallest distance we cover is 4.5km and we'll be running trips in the future where we'll walk for most of the day! Please check our events page for individual walk distances.
Our walking events are over 18s only. We need to keep a certain pace and want to ensure that women can switch off / chat without worrying about their kids or someone elses! We do however welcome babes in arms if they are in a carrier.
Well behaved dogs who love people and other dogs are welcome. Please make sure you bring a lead for your dog as we may come across livestock on some of our routes. Please also be mindful that some people don't love dogs or may have had a bad experience with one so ensure your dog is welcome to say hello before he/she does so!
Please check the weather! If it's rained, err on the side of caution and wear appropriate footwear. Make sure you bring an anorak for rain and water for the walk. We carry a small but basic first aid kit so if you have new boots - bring blister plasters!
